Course coordinator – P.K. KAIRU
Mr. Kairu is a long-standing Credit expert having graduated from Leeds University in the United Kingdom in the field of Credit Management. He worked in various financial institutions at senior management levels before taking early retirement to start the only school of its kind in Kenya – Kenya School of Credit Management – an institution that trains people in the latest practices in credit management.
Mr. Kairu introduced the career of credit management in Kenya and wrote the first curriculum that has been used by the Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Examinations Board (KASNEB) to examine students from the year 2001. He has written, Credit Management, the first local book in credit management that is a recommended study guide for KASNEB students and all stakeholders in the credit business.
Mr. Kairu is a former Chairman of the Institute of Credit Management – Kenya, an associate of Gretsa University Senate, Director of Studies at the Kenya School of Credit Management and a lecturer of the core units in Credit Management.

At Kenya School of Credit Management, we offer the following:
- ONLINE PROGRAMS
- In-house certification programs
- Credit Analysts/Relationship Management program – designed to enhance skills in those working in lending financial institutions.
- Credit Management Training- Commercial Sector – designed for those working in commercial entities that sell goods and services on credit.
The above are skills-based training programs that enhance Credit Management skills in the participants.
The main features of the programs are as follows:
- Duration is 4 months.
- Study kit issued to the participants by the school free of charge.
- The program is purely online including exams.
- One online lecture session per month for 2 hours at a time and day convenient to the class.
- There are 2 exams, one after every two months.
- Kenya School of Credit Management issues the learner with a certificate on successful completion of the program.
- Fees Kshs.25,000/- (fees can be paid in installments with prior arrangement with the school).
Certified Credit Professionals (CCP) – examined by KASNEB
This is an externally (KASNEB) examined program which has 3 levels.
The main features of the program are as follows:
- Teaching duration is 5 months.
- Reading notes issued to the participants by the school free of charge.
- Teaching is purely online.
The fees are as follows:
- Foundation – 6 units – Kshs.30,000/-
- Intermediate – 4 units – Kshs.20,000/-
- Advanced – 4 units – Kshs.24,000/-
IN-HOUSE CREDIT MANAGEMENT TRAINING PROGRAMS
In this program, the school trains staff of a specific institution on credit management for an agreed number of days.
Fees – Kshs.150,000 + VAT per day.
- OPEN CREDIT TRAINING PROGRAMS
The school organizes an open training, in a chosen location, where participants, nominated by different institutions are trained in credit management.
Fees – Kshs.34,000/- + VAT per participant.
